Village Point Park Preserve is Daphne’s largest and oldest park along with being an estuary for wildlife. Located on the property is the historic D’Olive Cemetery dating back to the early 1800s. Apart from its long past, Village Pointe Park is home to one of the largest live oaks in Alabama.
Take a walk through the trails and learn about the nature that surrounds the area and see why this park is Daphne’s treasure! Notable oak trees, immaculate wetlands, streams and untouched woodlands are just a portion of the wonders settled in the Preserve.
Bayfront Park is located on the shores of Mobile Bay in Daphne, AL. This park is a perfect place to exercise, fish and hike down as it offers fishing access from piers and walking bridges through the park over parts of the bay. The natural beauty of this park is unquestionable. Some of the trails venture off and lead to Village Pointe Park Preserve and back through Bayfront Park. The park includes bayside piers, waterbed and paved and wooded trails.
McMillian Bluff is located in Daphne and leads to downtown Fairhope on the shores of Mobile Bay. This beachfront beauty features a deck that overlooks the serene waters amidst gorgeous landscaped gardens. Follow the path and it will lead you through downtown Fairhope for a glimpse into a Hallmark movie-like town. The paths have plenty of space for runners and walkers alike to enjoy the beautiful views this park has to offer.
Historic Blakely State Park has an incredible amount of trails ranging throughout 20 miles of hiking, biking and horseback riding areas for you to explore. All these trails are marked and specify how long each trail will take to travel. The total park covers 3,800 acres of woodland
wilderness and preserves acreage for Alabama’s Native American and Civil War history to highlight the Battle of Fort Blakely in the area. Blakely State Park traces its origins back to the Civil War and is now well-preserved for campers, hikers, bikers and horseback riders for years to come.
The beautiful Gulf State Park offers over two miles of gorgeous Gulf of Mexico beaches, spacious campgrounds and a lodge and conference center to enjoy. The park features 28 miles of boardwalks and paved trails to explore through the nine unique ecosystems within park boundaries. The majority of trails are for hiking and biking but don’t be surprised if you spot an alligator or tortoise along your journey! The trails are marked and specify how long each distance will be.
The Dauphin Island Bird Sanctuary - Alabama Birding Trails
Experience the sights and sounds of the coastal Alabama Birding Trails. The Coastal Birding Trail features six birding loops to walk and hike through Mobile and Baldwin counties. The Dauphin Island Bird Sanctuary consists of 164 acres of maritime pine forest with several miles of trails. Spot wildlife while hiking through the trails and sanctuary. Some of the trails lead to the beautiful Gulf of Mexico shores for you to enjoy.
